It was a cold and lazy morning. We woke up not as early as the other days. But it was still early. It was around 8AM we purposely woke up just to visit the coin laundry just at the corner of our airbnb area. There were no one there, I thought we will bump with some locals. Actually, Mr. F chose this airbnb because it was close to coin laundry which is very convenient for us. We weren’t brought so many clothes. You know, winter clothes are thick enough to fill our luggage. So doing laundry is the best choice to save more space in the luggage.
Museum of Modern And Contemporary Art in Nusantara or shortened as Museum MACAN (macan means tiger in bahasa Indonesia), is recently opened a few months ago in Jakarta.
It was born by Yayasan Museum MACAN, a non-profit foundation.
‘Art Turns World Turns’ is the current exhibition since it’s opening on November 7th.
I visited here because the infamous installation by Yayoi Kusama ‘Infinity Mirrored Room‘. I couldn’t make it to visit her exhibition in Singapore this year. 😦 So this was a very good chance to see her art!
Finally yesterday was the last working day of the year (I hope). Nah…I only have holiday on the Christmas and New Year. The rest of the weekday still gonna be a normal day………….. *sigh
I went to meet up with my besties last night. We tried the new open restaurant nearby Olivia’s house. It was just 5mins walking distance! So convenient. It might be a new meet up place for us. Instead going to shopping mall.
Atlast Kahve & Restaurant, was open on 11 December 2017. They are still having their soft opening promotion, BUY 1 GET 1 for selected food & beverage.
In October, my cousin held his wedding to his 11-years girlfriend. The wedding was held in 2 days, a day for Holy Matrimony and the other as the wedding dinner in Bali.
The Holy Matrimony was held at Regina Caeli Church, Jakarta. It was an honored to be part of the wedding as the carrier of church offerings.
It was a bright Sunday when we had our engagement day. We were grateful that our event went smoothly with no hassle. Only some awkward moments between me and Mr. F. :p
I’ve left this blog for around 10 months and left my Japan trip last year hanging. Very very sorry! (.__.)
I’ve started to become busier since February until last month (and will be busy again next year) 😦
First, I was busy preparing for the 2nd store project of one of Japanese retail. Our store is located in Cakung – East Jakarta. It’s grand opening was in the end of October. So yeah, everybody was busy until the day! I was staying in a rental room provided from my office around that area. Because it will be a hassle to always come back and forth from my home at other province to depart to Cakung everyday.
Second, me & Mr F was planning for our wedding. We bought a house which should be start to build next year by the developer (we saved our money for the down payment). Then we went to some wedding exhibitions this year to gather the information, calculate budgets and find some inspiration for us. We went around many places to survey and meet the marketing for the wedding halls.
Third, after done all the 2nd store opening, we prepared for our engagement day. We went to see a person who can calculate a good day / date for us (well this is following chinese culture & beliefs). Actually both of us planned to have engagement date on 03 December 2017. We were so glad that the man predicted that it was a good date for us this year! We didn’t even tell him about our plan! Then since my zodiac is horse and his is dragon. Dragon will not have a good year next year (according chinese belief). So it’s not suggested that a dragon to hold a wedding next year (it will be a year for dog zodiac). We plan to have it in 2019. We got March for our wedding month. 🙂
I’ll return to Japan trip post soon!
After sometime, finally me & Mr. F have a proper time for Saturday Date 😀 We went to Grand Indonesia purposely to visit Benedict upon my request because they provide Martabak Pancake during August.
We were lucky that the place not very crowded when we arrived. So we can choose place to sit. We took sometime to choose what to eat since every menu looks tempting.
Since it’s our brunch, I decided to have egg benedict from the menu. They have lots of selection to choose! Classic, Pulled Chicken, Mexican, Florentine, Pork Belly and Japanese Benedict. Their best seller are Classic, Pork Belly and Japanese Benedict. Mr. F had Honey Mustard Crusted Pork Belly and Japanese Benedict for me.
Honey Mustard Crusted Pork Belly | IDR 80,000 Soft scrambled egg, roasted king oyster, sliced apples, crouton, broken juice. It was so delicious! Mr. F rarely eat pork, but this is an exception. He has no regret choosing this meal. The sauce was juicy which compliment the soft pork belly.
Japanese Benedict | IDR 80,000 Poached eggs, shiitake rice, chicken hamburg sautéed horenso. dynamite hollandaise, side salad. The combination compliment each layer. The poached eggs were cooked like what I expected and the shiitake rice matched with hamburg and sautéed horenso. We were happy with the dishes. 🙂
Then we continue with the desserts. Martabak Pancake and Durian Ice Cream!
Durian Ice Cream | IDR 35,000 the durian ice cream topped with black sticky rice, durian paste below (original) and peanut crunch. Again, Mr. F was happy with this! Well, we rarely found places that served durian ice cream with the real durian fruit. Usually it already blend to become an ice cream. 🙂 Totally deserved 4 thumbs!
Martabak Pancake | IDR 65,000 nutella, cheddar cheese, almond crunch, condensed milk. The waiter served & grated the cheese when they brought our martabak pancake. Well, this was the first time for us treated like this. 😀 The martabak pancake was delicious, for me the sweetness was perfect, not too sweet. But for him, it was too sweet but still acceptable. I love nutella and cheese together. Yummy!
AH! I ordered the Ice Peppermint Tea and it was refreshing! The not too sweet and the peppermint was very dominant. 🙂 Will come again for sure.
